How Shield Top Seal Works

Shield Top Seal is a penetrating sealer that penetrates into the concrete. Unlike surface sealers, Shield Top Seal doesn't sit on the surface of the concrete but actually works its way into the concrete.

This creates a hydrophobic barrier (a fancy term for "waterproof") protecting the surface from liquids and chemicals. This lines the concrete pores internally but does not fill them.

Because it is a penetrating sealer, there is no change to the look of the concrete. It will have no sheen.

Vapor Permeable

There is likely moisture underneath any slab of concrete. This moisture travels up through concrete and wants to get out. The downside with surface sealers is that they can trap moisture in the concrete by creating a seal on the surface. However, Shield Top Seal is vapor permeable meaning that any moisture in the concrete is allowed to escape.

Best on the Market

Unlike many sealers on the market, Shield Top Seal has the smallest molecular structure. Why is this important? Because the small molecules allow the product to penetrate the furthest into the concrete providing the most and best protection.
