Shield Top Seal

Penetrating Sealer

Shield Top Seal is a penetrating sealer that completely seals and waterproofs concrete, brick, cured asphalt, stucco and sandstone surfaces.

It is effective as a sealer on surfaces which will be above or below grade.

Shield Top Seal can be used alone as a single product or it can be used in conjunction with Fortress Deep Seal -- an internal densifier and hardener that also waterproofs and reduces vapor transmission.

Non-toxic, Non-flammable & Easy to Apply

Many sealers have strong fumes that linger for days, even weeks, after being applied. That's not good for people and it's not good for pets. And many of these sealers can not be used indoors because of the danger they pose from the toxic nature of the sealers. But Shield Top Seal is different. There are no harsh smells or dangerous chemicals to be concerned about. It's easy to apply and has a low VOC.

Shield Top Seal penetrates approximately 1/16th of an inch into concrete. (Penetration rates vary according to the substrate.) Fortress Deep Seal works only internally, and leaves the top 1/16th inch clean so that other coatings or adhesives or penetrating sealers will work well including Shield Top Seal.

Preferred Sealer of Kennel Owners

Shield Top Seal is THE preferred sealer for kennel owners across the country. The biggest challenge for keeping kennels clean? Odor. What can be done to address the smell? Using Fortress Deep Seal and Shield Top Seal together creates a concrete floor that is impervious to liquid penetration. We hear from kennel owners all the time how much easier it is to clean their kennels and how the odor has been greatly reduced.

What's Our Secret?

There is no secret! We've formulated products that are designed to do these things and to do them well. Fortress Deep Seal is designed to strengthen and densify concrete. Once the silica aero gel forms there's no place for water to go. It can't penetrate deep into the concrete. The only option it has is to spread out on the surface. And this is where Shield Top Seal comes in. It penetrates the top 1/16" into the concrete creating a hydrophobic barrier (ie waterproof barrier) so that liquids can't penetrate the concrete.

Epoxies and Other Surface Sealers

Why not just use a surface sealer to address issues? Surface sealers tend to crack, chip and peel. That will never happen with Shield Top Seal since it doesn't sit on the surface of the concrete but rather penetrates into the concrete.

Either as a "stand alone" single product for sealing all types of surfaces, or in conjunction with Concrete Remedy Deep Seal, Top Seal is the

Don't Fall for Other Sealers

Surface sealers effect the friction surface of the concrete. Unfortunately, they make the surface more slippery. In many applications this can be dangerous and risky. Additionally, when these surfaces get wet, the friction surface is even more dangerous.

Shield Top Seal is the Perfect Solution for:

Stamped Concrete

Often stamped concrete is colored. Shield Top Seal will not change the look or color of stamped concrete.

A second big advantage to using Shield Top Seal on stamped concrete is that it does not make the concrete as slick as surface coatings will. Any time you put on a sealer that gives a shiny or glossy appearance, you can be sure that surface will be slick when it gets wet.

Slickness and safety are a huge issues in residential and commercial settings. Shield Top Seal avoids this problem because it is a penetrating sealer and NOT a surface sealer.

Stucco Houses and Buildings

Stucco walls tend to absorb moisture. When moisture is present in stucco, the perfect breeding ground for mold and mildew occurs. All the moisture problems associated with stucco can be solved by patching cracks if needed and applying both Fortress Deep Seal and Shield Top Seal. Fortress Deep Seal also helps stucco because it hardens, strengthens and dust proofs it so it lasts longer.
